Horse Whispering For Better Communication
Kathy Taylor offers a horse whispering course, using horses to teach you how to communicate with others. Patrick Dougher, from DoerTV.com, took a lesson to get to understand what it was Kathy does, and how it can benefit anyone in communication. This interview is a testimonial to the effectiveness of Kathy’s horse whispering course.
According to Pat, the course was definitely revealing, and helped him to not only look at horses differently, but how he communicates his feeling and attitude. The course is not at all about riding horses, it’s about using the horse as a way to teach you to train yourself how to communicate
Since there is no actual riding, t is all done on the ground to keep everyone on equal footing. Basically all it is involves trying to find out if you can you lead a horse from point A to point B. That is the physical mission. Beyond that, the mental and emotional aspects are explored, and depending o the people and the horse, what the experience is.
Kathy’s horse whispering course is a unique way of teaching communication, and it is best to come to the arena with an open-minded mindset. As you sit and communicate with the horses you find they are not impressed by egos or pretense.
How can you learn to communicate with the horse? Since a horse has no preconceived notion of you, they do not judge you based on looks, education or intelligence. A horse sees you for how you react and interact with them. Horses just read a person, on a being level rather than a talking level.
A lot of people can benefit from the attitude of the horse – they don’t care. They know they are bigger than you and could do damage if they wanted to. The respond to how you treat them. In the end, the course will show you valuable insights into yourself, and how you communicate with others. It’s best to be real – with yourself, the horse, and others.
How did you implement this into your life? In Pat’s instance he was able to tap into his subconscious to help implement changes in his life, with the help of others he has worked with.

What is Diatomaceous Earth and Why Take it?
Eric Hover, of Natures Wisdom, explains to Patrick Dougher, host of The Business Spotlight, what is Diatomaceous Earth and its use as a protein powder for various medicinal purposes.
According to Hover, Diatomaceous Earth protein powder can be used as an aid for constipation, for the treatment of high blood pressure, chronic pain and arthritis. It can also be used as an internal cleanse, among other things.
Diatomaceous Earth can be taken as a protein shake, with water or other juice, When dissolved in water it may taste chalky, but it all depends on how it was stored. It can be taken on an empty stomach, and you can work yourself up to a rounded tablespoon once or twice a day. If you are trying to detox you could take more. Always make sure to take in plenty of water or it could dehydrate you.
When taken in
Diatomaceous Earth does absorb the flavor of the items it is stored around. For this reason storing in a plastic container is advised. Hover advises to keep it in a cool dry place, and not next to products that it could absorb their odor.
It comes conveniently packaged in several sizes, for easy access, and can be purchased through Amazon.com, or from Natures Wisdom’s retail website – Organic-Gardening-Shop.com.

Jeff Pickering CPA Discusses Tax Strategies for 2014 on Tax Talk
Jeff Pickering, CPA in the Plano, Texas chats with Patrick Dougher, host of The Business Spotlight on this Google Hangouts edition of Tax Talk. This week’s discussion is about Tax Strategies for 2014.
This year is no different from any other year. Talk time rolls around and you are staring at your blank return wondering how many deductions you can take, and how you can avoid having to pay income taxes.
Many older taxpayers have some tax advantage. If they look into their tax strategies for 2014 they will find the Roth IRA is a great way to keep your retirement fund and still be able to take some out without paying additional taxes. Many people don’t realize that 401K plans are usually audited. If you were to speak with a CPA knowledgeable about taxes you will find there are ways to utilize your 401K legally to aid your business. You don’t get an immediate deduction to a Roth IRA, but if you do it right you won’t have to pay taxes on it when you take your money out.
Small business owners have some special tax advantages, and a diverse number of choices that they can use in order to expand their business and have some tax advantages.
Any service provider you pay over $600 in one year will have to be given a form 1099. Incorporated business (with the INC) in their name do not need them. Many corporations do not know this. For this reason it is advisable to NOT do your taxes yourself, but have a professional do it for you.
Most people wonder if they have to file their taxes. Older workers who make less than $54,000 do NOT have to file. The more money you make, the better the chance of having to pay taxes on your social security. Married people whose income is less than the standard deduction do not usually have to file. Unfortunately, it can become complicated as to who does or does not file. so to understand the tax strategies for 2014, it is best to speak with a professional tax consultant and accountant.
If you file and you don’t actually have to, he recommends you file anyway. Filing the return will put a limit of three years on the statute of limitations for the IRS to come back and audit you. You have three years to change your change return if you made a mistake.

Smiles By Mary – Invisalign Braces, Part 3
Smiles by Mary Dallas dentist, Dr. Mary Swift, DDS, discusses Invisalign braces with “The Business Spotlight” host Patrick Dougher, in this third part of the four part series. Dr. Swift is the 2011, 2012 and 2013 recipient of the Consumer Choice Award for dentistry in the Dallas area. She also is the recent recipient of the Angie’s List Super Service Award.
Dr. Swift explains that alignment of the jaw is important for spine health, TMJ, and overall health issues. Aligning the teeth properly can even open the airways in your throat so you are able to get better air into your lungs when you breathe at night. This helps to eliminate snoring, and replaces some of the breathing devices needed for people with sleep apnea and other sleep disorders.
Invisalign braces have been around for nearly 20 years, but research and development has brought it from simple use for overcrowding to what it can do today to improve overall health. They are light, and virtually invisible to most people. They are worn 23 out of 24 hours per day (you take them out to eat), and every two weeks you go back to the dentist to have the tray replaced with another that will move your teeth slightly more.
Gone are the days of messy impressions – no gagging and no mess. Dr. Swift says that her office, Dallas Laser Dentistry, is one of the few in the Dallas area that digitally scans the patient’s mouth. A computer generated image replaces the old clay impressions. It is a more exact too, and ensures a more perfect smile.

Smiles By Mary – Invisalign, Part 1
Dr. Mary Swift, DDS, is the guest speaker on this edition of “The Business Spotlight” with host Patrick Dougher. She has received the Consumer Choice Award for years 2011, 2012 and 2013 for dentistry in the Dallas area. Recently, Doctor Swift received the Angie’s List Super Service Award. She is on the program today to talk about Invisalign braces.
Invisalign braces are a series of clear trays that move your teeth into a corrected position. There are no wires or traditional braces involved, and most people will not even realize you are wearing them. Trays are thin and lightweight, and each tray moves the teeth a little bit at a time, over a period of two weeks apiece. They are very comfortable, easy to use, and have changed Dr. Swift’s dental practice, and the entire way we think about braces.
In the old days, wire braced were used. They had to be tightened, food got stuck in them, and they were often painful to wear. After they were removed you still have to wear retainers in order to keep your teeth in the correct position.
Dentists discovered that teeth start to crowd as we age, whether they had braces or not. Align Technology invented and distribute Invisalign originally to help those who had already had traditional braces realign their teeth, and then the teeth shift later. They did not want to wear the old, cumbersome braces again – or felt too old for braces.
Anyone who wants a prettier smile, in general, are the people who can utilize Invisalign. She recommends that you make sure all your teeth are aligned before you have any dental work – like crowns, implants, etc. done.
Smiles By Mary – Invisalign, Part 2
Award-winning Dallas dentist, Dr. Mary Swift, discussed the rewards of Invisalign braces for nearly everyone. She calls her practice, Smiles by Mary. Smiles can change a person’s life – they can openly smile, or hide behind a hand because of their smile. Which would you rather do?
Patrick wears Invisalign braces himself. You wear them 23 out of 24 hours a day. You only take them out the eat. The more you wear them the better they work. People who had braces at one time, and know how great their straight teeth look, are even coming back to have the Invisalign braces installed.
Dr. Swift told of a life-changing story for a man who used Invisalign because as he grew up he had spaces between his teeth. People look at you as immature or juvenile if you have gaps, so he had the Invisalign braces installed and his look changed his life.
Dr. Swift even goes on to say that wearing Invisalign braces can actually help you lose weight (this is often a side effect, but not what it was designed for).
Invisalign braces are especially necessary to help those who want veneers. The better your teeth are aligned, the better your teeth will look beautiful, even after veneers.

Smiles By Mary – Invisalign, Part 4
Dallas dentist, Dr. Mary Swift, speaks with The Business Spotlight host (and her patient), Patrick Dougher about her Smiles by Mary practice, and Invisalign braces in particular.
Dr. Swift’s team at Dallas Laser Dentistry are recipients of the 2011, 2012 and 2013 recipient of the Consumer Choice Award for dentistry in the Dallas area. She also is the recent recipient of the Angie’s List Super Service Award. She makes a point of saying it is a team effort, and she is very proud of her team. They have excellent reviews.
Dr. Swift tells of how she has had patients who have had expensive dental work done and they broke down – mostly, she says, because they did not have alignment done before the cosmetic work was. Lack of alignment can cause problems down the road.
As we age our teeth move, just like other parts of our body, even if you have had braces before.
Invisalign has been around for nearly 20 years, but research and development has brought it from simple use for overcrowding to what it can do today to improve overall health. Invisalign braces are good for most, although not all, patients. Their lightweight structure makes them easy to wear, and they are so clear that most people won’t even know you are wearing them.
Dr. Swift’s office, Dallas Laser Dentistry, is one of the few in the Dallas area that digitally scans the patient’s mouth. A computer generated image replaces the old and often sickening clay impressions. No muss, no fuss. Use of the computer gives more precise measurements, which enables a more perfect smile.
Smiles by Mary offers all types of dental work for their patients, and they welcome those who wish to come in for a consultation and learn more about what they have to offer.
