Using Transformational Thinking To Keep New Year Resolutions
Ed Lewellean, a Transformational Thinking guru, joins Patrick Dougher, host of The Business Spotlight TV, to explain what transformational thinking is, and how you can use it to achieve your goals.
Every year, the majority of American’s make New Year Resolutions. Most don’t make it through the first day, much less continue on until they reach their goal. So, are new year resolutions really good for you, or do they do harm by making you feel as if you are not able to follow through on what you want?
The new year is often thought of as a new beginning – the perfect time to make better choices, or decisions that will greatly impact your life. People see this as a start to make positive changes – like lose weight, quit smoking, change jobs, etc. The problem is, they rely on willpower to achieve their goals, so they are in self-destruct mode before they leave the gate. They recall what happened the last time they made this decision and were not successful. Reality sets in as to the amount of effort it will take to carry on, and they get scared and back away.
According to Ed, “Where attention goes, energy flows.” You visualize the last time you tried this, and failed. The more you try to start something, and think about it, you focus your attention on the negative aspect. With transformational thinking you are essentially rewiring your brain to look at the positive, and not the negative.
It takes a minimum of 21 days to establish a new habit. Transformational thinking helps you to create new neuro-pathways in your brain, to establish a new circuitry, for healthy alternatives.
There are several different tools that can be used to achieve changes – hypnosis, biofeedback, meditation, visualization – just to name a few. According to Ed, sometimes, after literally just a few minutes, a person will see or hear something that brings on an “epiphany.” Others take a little longer, and may have to try different ways that work for them , in order for them to go about making changes in their life.
Lewallan advises that you start by putting together a plan or strategy. Write it down. There is a definite connection between seeing your goals in writing and being motivated to achieve them.
Share your plan with others. It’s easy to cheat if no one else knows about it but you. Besides, it never hurts to get some support and positive feedback to motivate you.
Most people are visual learners. Place notes or pictures of your goal or ideal in places you frequent – refrigerator, desk, dresser, mirror, etc. Continuously seeing the image of your goal will reinforce in your mind the dream, and help you to stay on track.
Make a contract with yourself. State in the positive tense what you want to receive – as if you’ve already achieved it. “I am earning $200,000 a year,” “I can fit into a size 8,” “I have stopped smoking and not put on any weight.” Etc. Use your energy – use that charge. Know what it feels like. It does work.

It’s never too late to start a new year resolution. It doesn’t have to begin on January 1st, it can be the start of spring, a wedding, a divorce, the start of summer, a new job, etc. PLAN –SHARE-VISUALIZE. It does work!

UAN Channel 27 Staff Thanksgiving Thoughts
Celebrating the beginning of the holiday season at UAN Channel 27 is not done in the ordinary way by the UAN staff.
Patrick bids Happy Thanksgiving a little early, while people are still on a sugar high from Halloween. This does, however, get the Channel 27 staff thinking about what they are truly thankful for.
They start to think about how thankful they are for all the great things we have – like UAN’s mature staff, their toys, but most of all – for their families, job, co-workers and friends.
The Six is a “news” show that isn’t actually news in the usually sense. It’s a zany approach to life, and what goes on in the world, taken in six-minute segments and aired on UAN Channel 27 every Saturday and Sunday evening at 8 and 9 p.m. To learn more, visit us at http://www.UANonline.com.

The Six, on Channel 27 UAN, is full of the crazyness we all expect from Halloween – except all year through.

Money and Human Behavior with Kasandra Vitacca Mitchell
Patrick Dougher, host of The Business Spotlight, speaks with guest Kasandra Vitacca Mitchell, founder of Epiphany Financial. Kasandra is an established wealth coach, working with people to help them make a “financial epiphany,” and build their personal wealth by showing them that Money and Human Behavior are related.
Many people do not take care of their financial health. People have become greedy. They have learned to keep wanting more money, and it becomes a a problem (gluttony) where there is no way to satisfy. In order to try to make more money, they often make bad money decisions. Kasandra’s job is to help them turn this around so they have a sound financial future for retirement, and to pass along to their heirs.
You can’t change a pattern of mismanaging money quickly, it didn’t happen overnight and it will not be fixed overnight. We’ve been trained by TV to accept what we see as the standard, and it is not, it is the exception. Stop looking at what others are doing and listen to those who try to help them get on track.
Kasandra likes to say, “Money is not math, it’s human behavior.” “If money were math we’d all be mega-millionaires,” she says. “There are behaviors today that can set you up for success tomorrow.”
There is not a system, so much, but there is a behavior. Are you willing to do the behavior in order to get where you want, to reach your maximum?” She gave an example of a young man who came to her to help set up his financial future. The gentleman came in with a lot of knowledge of the principle of finance that he got from reading and studying. This indicated to her that he was willing to do what it takes to make himself a financial success. He set his goals, and had a plan. They spoke together and planned out how we would get to his 20% savings down the road (it will take some time). It was a process that he had to come to in order to have certain behaviors to build the right mindset to grow your money.
“You will not have wealth unless you save for wealth.” The way to make anything exciting with your money is to save it first. You have to save first. The more you add to it the more options you have. So much of the reason that you were able to get there is because you had mental growth in order to get there. This is where money and human behavior are related. You can’t grow your money if you don’t have the right mindset.

Wrapping Up Your Tax Year on Tax Talk with Jeff Pickering
Jeff Pickering discusses the end of the year tax with Patrick Dougher, host of The Business Spotlight. Together Jeff and Pat have put together this video series, entitled Tax Talk, and are using Google+ Hangouts for the first time so people can join in and ask questions. (Reminder: getting answers from Jeff on taxes does not make you a client of his, and he can not represent you in tax discussions unless you pay him for his service).
As the end of the year approaches you want to wrap up any spending, and see what you can carry over until the next year and still take a deduction – like surgeries, IRA, 401K contributions, HSA and more. Make sure you have receipts to back up what you claim as deductions.
Tax Talk is being presented as a way for people to speak to a professional on taxes one on one and see if they need to seek out his service, or that of another tax expert, before they file their taxes.
Jeff does tax planning as well as taxes, and he says some changes in the tax laws could be a pleasant surprise. On the other hand, he recommends not doing your taxes yourself, especially if you own a business, because programs sold publicly do not always address issues that, if ignored, could come back to cause you expensive problems.
This Tax Talk edition is just one of many discussions Pat and Jeff will put on to help people get through tax season.

Keys to Surviving The Holidays
Ed Lewellen, Master Hypnotist and Transformational Guru, talks about surviving the holidays with Patrick Dougher, host of The Business Spotlight, on this Google+ Hangout.
Some people are so stressed out during the holidays that they find it hard to deal with. Visiting with the in-laws and family, arguments, too much work to do, the need to communicate, uncomfortable guests and conversations – all these lead up to a hard time getting through the holiday season.
Are there really keys that will help in surviving the holidays?
According to Ed, so much of what we do is associating what we want life and the holidays to be with what it really is. We create expectations that are not based on reality. For this reason, many people feel depressed and alone, and the high mortality rate exists especially during this time of year.
As the holiday get closer, the idea of getting through and surviving the holidays gets tougher to deal with. Why? Why can’t surviving the holidays be a positive thing instead of a negative? If you are alone, why not spend time with others who are thankful for your help and assistance? If you would take yourself outside of your own comfort zone and ideals, and change your expectations, surviving the holidays would be so much different.
